Kindness Jars
Little Movers really does make a huge difference to communities, our teams and families actively support many charities across the UK raising thousands of pounds to help so many great causes out there!
A NEW addition to our classes is the Little Movers Kindness Jars.
These little Money Jars will be passed around class for children to pop 1p – 10p into the Jar. The children will, in time, understand that they are making a kind donation that will make a HUGE DIFFERENCE. When each jar is full the class leader will talk to the children and families to decide what Act of Kindness they will do and one family will be chosen to deliver the Act Of Kindness in the community.
The Acts of Kindness will really make people smile but the main purpose for our Special Kindness Jars is to help our children to understand the importance of helping others.
See what Acts of Kindness the team have been doing below.
Durham, Seaham, Spennymoor and Peterlee
Our lovely Flora and her Mummy Sarah took the big bag of change, counted it all out and contacted a local care home where there were two residents who don’t receive many visitors, so they gifted them some toiletries and chocolates.
These were very welcomed by the care home and also the lovely residents Alan and Mary!
We hope you enjoyed your gifts and we made you smile, it certainly made Flora happy, she said ‘it made her happy giving presents’.
Doncaster
One of our Acts of Kindness was given to volunteers at Edenthorpe Community Library. Alex & his Mummy popped into the library to give the volunteers some sweet treats and they were thrilled.
Another was delivered to a very special family by Charlie & Olivia’s family. This family are dealing with a very poorly little boy who is currently undergoing treatment. The recipients were very touched by such a kind gesture.
Doncaster also delivered a box of chocolates to someone very special in the community, Myla & Maggie delivered these and there were a few tears but oodles of love & kindness. Well done girls for making someone smile.
South Tyneside
Thanks to the fabulous families in South Tyneside, this Christmas 3 homeless/vulnerable people will receive a 3 course Christmas meal curtesy of ‘the people’s kitchen Newcastle’ and a friend’s lovely Nana will be receiving some gorgeous Christmas flowers which I’m sure will pop a huge smile on her face. These acts of kindness were arranged & delivered by Ollie & Mammy!
Sam, our South Tyneside Franchisee said ‘Huge thank you to all of our families who have donated their weekly pennies so far this term. We are really showing our little ones how working together and given a small amount soon adds up and can make a huge difference.’

Washington & Sunderland North
Dominic made great use of all our pennies collected in our kindness jar. He made two people very happy indeed. Dominic’s lolly pop lady always helps others and always seems to know everyone’s name which is a job in itself. She was over the moon when she received chocolates as a thank you for always helping Dominic and the local families.
Dominic and mammy also bought a beautiful bunch of flowers to cheer up an elderly neighbour who had recently just been in hospital for an operation. We are pleased to see they are on the mend and loved the gesture.
Leeds West Fundraising for Izzy
Our families over in Leeds have had a very busy summer raising money Izzy, a Little Mover who was diagnosed with Dancing Eye Syndrome earlier this year. Their activities included a swim session called Splash Dance, which also saw some parents competing in a mini triathlon! There was also an exercise bike taken to 12 classes in 1 week where parents cycled over 180miles for sponsorship. Danni, our Leeds West Franchisee along with her daughter and another family from the Little Movers team joined Izzys tribe of over 45 people to complete Pen-y-ghent. Finally they had special ‘Room full of colour’ classes on where the money was donated to the fundraiser.
Over £1,400 was raised by Danni and her fabulous families for Dancing Eye Syndrome & Leeds Children’s Hospital.
Doncaster Pajama Collection
Our Doncaster Little Movers families have blown us away by donating over 30 pairs of Christmas PJ’s for the children in hospital this year at Doncaster Royal Infirmary
That’s over 30 young people who will have something extra to smile about at Christmas. That’s because of all of our generous & kind hearted Doncaster families.
Caroline, our Doncaster franchisee says ‘You’re teaching your little ones how to love & care for others in a way that will stay with them forever! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!’

Huddersfield & Rainbow Baby Bank
The lovely, extremely generous families in Huddersfield & Stockbridge collected an amazing haul of baby items! These were donated to the Rainbow Baby Bank who do a fantastic job across Kirklees.
Jo, our Huddersfield Franchisee said ‘ I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and feel so happy that lots of families will benefit from this! Thank you to Hepworth Junior and Infant School for putting the word out and Charlotte Louise Boorman for even going to collect free items that you know will help…you are an absolute gem’
Top Fundraisers for Children’s activities week
This year Little Movers took the crown as the top fundraisers during Children’s Activities Week 2024, organised by Whats On 4 Kids and raising money for Cauldwell Children.
Caudwell Children exists to make life fair for disabled and autistic children, so all our families across the UK got on board to raise money for such a fabulous cause, raising over £7000 in the process.
