Summer Holidays in Rotherham? Here’s Your Go-To List! ☀️
If you’re anything like me, you’ll eventually hit that point in the summer holidays where you can’t think of anywhere new to take the kids. So, I’ve put together a handy list of some of the best places to visit around Rotherham to help give you some inspiration!
If you have any other Rotherham-based recommendations, send them my way. I’d love to add them to the list or share them with everyone else.
A family favourite with something for everyone! There’s the museum, play areas, rides, plenty of space for a picnic, and the popular splash park for cooling off on warmer days.
The brand-new children’s playground is now open! I haven’t had chance to visit yet, but it looks fantastic and is definitely on our summer list.
⚙️ Magna Science Adventure Centre
A brilliant day out whatever the weather. Explore the interactive exhibits inside, then head outside for the huge playground and water play area. One of the best things? Your admission gives you unlimited return visits for a whole year!
There are loads of family films showing over the holidays. We’re excited to watch the new Moana! Parking is free too – just remember to enter your registration at the cinema when you arrive.
This immersive play space for little ones near Parkgate has been getting great reviews. Sessions need to be booked in advance, so make sure you check availability before you go.
🎈 Soft Play Adventures
Perfect for those rainy summer days! Some great local options include:
A lovely new play café on Moorgate Street, offering a space where little ones can play while grown-ups enjoy a coffee.
Step into the magical world where the witches and wizards of Rotherham come for their supplies! If you haven’t visited yet, it’s well worth a trip. The setting is beautiful, the café is lovely, and during the holidays they also run a bookable play space.
There’s much more here than just shopping. Explore the beautiful gardens, visit the farm, and enjoy everything else this popular family destination has to offer.
🏊 Swimming
Rotherham’s leisure centres run a variety of swimming sessions throughout the holidays, making it a great option for active days out.
Whether you’re planning a full day out or just looking to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours, hopefully this list gives you a few ideas.
*Got another great place in Rotherham that families should know about? Send me a message and I’ll happily add it to the list or share it with everyone!
