Little Movers Charity Week Raises Smiles, Awareness and Vital Funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity
What an incredible Charity Week we’ve had at Little Movers!
Our amazing little dancers have taken part in sponsored dancing throughout the week to raise money for Weston Park Cancer Charity, and we couldn’t be prouder. Every single child has tried their absolute best, shown so much enthusiasm and kindness, and has been truly amazing. It has been wonderful to see them learning that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
There is still time to support our fundraiser! If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, every contribution helps and soon adds up. Please also share the fundraising page with your friends and family to help us reach even more people.
We chose to support Weston Park Cancer Charity because cancer affects so many families. Most of us know someone whose life has been touched by cancer, and it’s so important that families receive support throughout their cancer journey.
This cause is also deeply personal to me. My mum was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and received her treatment at Weston Park. The wonderful staff went above and beyond, not only caring for her but supporting our whole family. Sadly, my mum passed away in 2007 when I was just 12 years old. It was an incredibly difficult time, and I know first-hand how important charities like Weston Park Cancer Charity are in helping families and children navigate life during and after cancer.
Throughout the week, many families have also shared their own experiences with me. It has been both heartwarming and heartbreaking to hear their stories and to be reminded just how many lives cancer touches.
One parent shared:
“My dad passed away from cancer three years ago. I love that the Little Movers group my son attends is helping to support this cancer charity as it is something that means a lot to our family.”
At Little Movers, we’re passionate about teaching children the values of kindness, compassion and giving back to others. Charity Week has been a wonderful opportunity to introduce these important lessons while having lots of fun together.
Our Charity Week isn’t over just yet! Due to the hot weather, we had to postpone a couple of classes, so we’ll be continuing our fundraising into next week. We’re looking forward to welcoming Little Learners Wickersley to Silverwood Care Home on Monday for a fabulous intergeneration session, and we’ll also be celebrating Charity Week with our Babies and Toddler 1 class at Nurtured at Northfield.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser and supported us throughout the week. I also have some cash donations still to add, so I’ll be sharing our final fundraising total in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you all for being absolutely fabulous and helping us make a difference together.
