In July, we joined John Darvall at BBC Radio Bristol to shine a light on postnatal depression, aiming to raise awareness and break the stigma surrounding maternal mental health.
During the segment, we shared personal experiences of the emotional highs and lows that can follow childbirth. Highlighting how common postnatal depression is, affecting around one in seven new mothers, yet how many parents still feel isolated or reluctant to seek help.
We then spoke about how baby groups, like Little Movers, and how our weekly sessions not only help babies develop but also create a vital sense of community for parents. “It’s more than just a class, It’s a place to talk, laugh, and feel supported. Sometimes that simple connection can be a lifeline.”
We know how important it is to talk and be heard. Our classes are more than just dancing and movement, they’re a great space to build a tribe. The message is simple: you do not have to face it alone. You are not alone.
Following our radio conversation, BBC News featured the story in an article, which you can read here.
